COURSE CURRICULUM

The Robotics and Automated Systems degree provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles and applications of robotics, mechatronics, and control systems. In the first year, students study Core Mathematics, Circuit Analysis, Programming and Software Engineering, Digital Systems, Dynamic Systems Analysis, and Applied Engineering, establishing the essential theoretical and practical skills for understanding and designing robotic systems. The second year deepens this knowledge with Advanced Mathematics, Electronics, Control System Design, Introduction to Robotics, and Robotics Planning and Control, alongside Project Design and Management, enabling students to integrate technical knowledge with real-world engineering challenges. In the final year, students complete an Individual Project that consolidates their learning and allows them to apply skills to complex, practical problems. Additional compulsory modules such as Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Applications Theory provide insight into the management and organisational aspects of engineering projects. Optional modules in Mechatronics and Instrumentation, Digital Manufacturing, State Space Control, Industrial Machine Vision, and Emerging Technologies allow students to tailor their studies according to specific interests and industry trends. Throughout the course, students gain hands-on experience, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills, preparing them for careers in robotics, autonomous systems, automation, manufacturing, and emerging technology sectors, or for further study in advanced robotics and engineering research.
