COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fine Art degree provides a dynamic and studio-focused learning experience that develops both creative practice and critical thinking. In the first year, students are introduced to core skills through modules in creative production, art and design research writing, contemporary practice, and process-based learning, alongside storytelling for sustainability and opportunities to initiate individual projects. This foundation allows students to build technical, conceptual, and reflective skills essential for their artistic development. In the second year, the program emphasizes personal practice, with modules designed to help students identify, develop, and consolidate their individual artistic direction, while exploring the ethical, political, and environmental contexts of art. Students also gain experience in curating and may select from a range of optional modules spanning areas such as arts management, protest and activism in art, generative AI, creative industries, and fashion in film, allowing for interdisciplinary exploration. By the third year, students focus on independent practice, supported by opportunities to undertake a dissertation or industrial report, before completing a final professional project that demonstrates their creative and critical growth. The course prepares graduates to confidently pursue careers in the creative industries or further academic study, equipping them with transferable skills and a strong artistic identity.
