COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Mental Health and Clinical Psychology program provides a comprehensive understanding of mental health and distress, focusing on both clinical and community contexts. Students explore the nature and causes of psychological distress, learning to apply evidence-based psychosocial interventions and treatments to support individuals effectively. The course emphasizes experiential learning, with modules such as Experts by Experience allowing students to gain insights directly from people who have lived with mental health challenges, enhancing empathy and practical understanding. Research methods for mental health are embedded throughout, equipping students with the skills to critically evaluate existing studies, design projects, and contribute to evidence-based practice. Clinical skills are developed through targeted training, enabling students to undertake assessments, formulate care plans, and implement interventions with confidence. The placement module provides practical, hands-on experience in real-world settings, bridging theoretical knowledge with professional practice and enhancing employability.
