COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Civil Engineering equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills across a range of specialized areas within the field. The program covers advanced structural design, enabling students to develop safe, efficient, and innovative structures while considering material behaviour and environmental impacts. Soil-structure engineering is addressed to provide a deep understanding of geotechnical principles and the interaction between foundations and soils, essential for stable and resilient construction. Finite element analysis and stress analysis modules focus on computational methods for modelling and predicting structural behaviour under various loads, giving students the ability to solve complex engineering problems. Transportation infrastructure is explored through highway engineering and operation, as well as railway engineering and asset management, covering design, maintenance, and performance assessment of critical transport networks. Water engineering modules examine the planning, design, and management of water systems, including hydraulic structures and water resources management. The program culminates in a comprehensive project that integrates knowledge from all modules, allowing students to apply theoretical and practical skills to real-world engineering challenges. Through this combination of advanced technical training and applied experience, graduates are prepared for professional careers in civil engineering, consultancy, infrastructure management, and research, both nationally and internationally.
