COURSE CURRICULUM

The Therapeutic Radiography BSc (Hons) program provides a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience to prepare students for a specialised career in cancer care. In the first year, students develop a foundation through modules such as Introduction to Dosimetry and Radiotherapy Physics, Anatomy and Biological Sciences, Fundamental Oncological Management, Concepts of Inter-professional and Collaborative Practice, and Practice Placement 1. These modules introduce the scientific principles of radiotherapy, basic oncology knowledge, and collaborative healthcare practice while providing initial hands-on clinical exposure. The second year focuses on advancing technical expertise and clinical understanding through Applied Dosimetry and Radiotherapy Physics, Cancer Imaging, Applied Oncological Management, Practice Placement 2, and Appraising Evidence for Research Informed Practice. This stage emphasizes applying evidence-based knowledge to real-world clinical scenarios, enhancing competence in treatment planning, imaging, and patient care. In the final year, students consolidate their skills through Advancing Dosimetry and Radiotherapy Physics, Advancing Oncological Management, Contemporary Debates in Radiotherapy Practice, Practice Placement 3, and Improving Quality, Change Management and Leadership. These modules prepare students for complex clinical situations, leadership roles, and professional decision-making.
