COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation program is structured over three years to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of injury assessment, management, and rehabilitation, alongside the development of practical clinical skills. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in the basic sciences of anatomy, physiology, and injury pathology, combined with modules in functional anatomy, kinesiology, therapy and clinical skills, and physical activity and exercise prescription. These modules integrate theoretical knowledge with applied practical learning to develop essential assessment and rehabilitation skills. The second year advances these skills through specialised modules such as Pitchside Assessment, Trauma Management and Advanced Clinical Skills, Lower Limb Rehabilitation, Upper Limb and Spinal Rehabilitation, and Applied Biomechanics, alongside the first placement, providing hands-on experience in real-world settings. Students also engage with Evidence-Based Practice, learning to critically evaluate research and apply it to clinical decision-making. In the third year, students focus on advanced topics including Psychological Principles for Rehabilitation and Human Performance, Screening and Conditioning for Performance, Clinical Rehabilitation and Health Promotion, and Application of Evidence-Based Practice through a research module. The second placement allows students to consolidate practical skills and gain professional experience. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers as sport rehabilitators, clinical practitioners, exercise therapists, or related health and performance roles, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and professional competence to work across a wide range of sports and rehabilitation contexts.
