COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy program provides a comprehensive and structured curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience to develop competent and reflective physiotherapists. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Human Structure and Function, Functional Anatomy and Kinesiology, Core Physiotherapy Skills, Physical Activity and Health Improvement, and Concepts of Inter-professional and Collaborative Practice. These modules introduce essential scientific principles, clinical skills, and the importance of teamwork in healthcare. The second year focuses on applying this knowledge in practice, with modules including Patient-centred Physiotherapy through the Lifecycle, Integrated Care for Physiotherapy Practice, Physiotherapy in Practice 1, and Appraising Evidence for Research Informed Practice, which together emphasize evidence-based approaches, patient-centred care, and the integration of clinical reasoning into therapeutic interventions. In the final year, students develop advanced skills and leadership capabilities through modules such as Advancing Physiotherapy Practice, Physiotherapy in Practice 2, Improving Quality, Change Management and Leadership, Optimising Clinical and Therapeutic Outcomes, and Contemporary Issues in Physiotherapy. These modules prepare students to manage complex clinical scenarios, implement effective interventions, and address emerging challenges in healthcare.
