COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Construction Management program provides a structured and comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed for a successful career in the construction industry. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Construction Practice, Surveying and Setting Out, Legal and Economic Context, Construction Technology and Materials, Construction Technology and Structures, and Building Services and Environmental Science. These modules develop essential technical skills, an understanding of building technologies, and awareness of the regulatory and environmental considerations in construction. The second year focuses on applied management and planning skills, covering Construction and Property Law, Measurement and Documentation, Estimating and Tendering Process, Production Management, Construction Planning, and Management of Organisation. Students learn to manage projects efficiently, understand contractual obligations, and apply effective planning and organisational strategies. In the final year, students consolidate their learning with advanced modules including a Research Project, Project Management, Corporate Management and Finance, Contract Practice and Administration, Sustainable Construction and the Environment, and a Construction Management Project. These modules emphasize leadership, strategic decision-making, sustainability, and the ability to deliver complex projects successfully.
