COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science program offers a structured and progressive curriculum designed to develop the technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional expertise required for careers in the technology industry. In the first year, students build a strong foundation with modules such as Fundamentals of Computer Science, Fundamentals of Software Development, Professional Practice, Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, and Requirements Analysis and User-Centred Design. These modules introduce core concepts, programming principles, computational thinking, and professional skills essential for success in computing. In the second year, the curriculum focuses on applied and advanced technical knowledge through modules including Big Data and Database Systems, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Principles of Data Networks, Software Engineering, and Advanced Programming. This stage emphasizes practical problem-solving, software development, and systems understanding, preparing students for complex computing tasks. The final year centers on integrating knowledge and demonstrating expertise through the Honours Computer Science Project, Systems and Cyber Security, and ICT Project Management in Practice, allowing students to tackle real-world challenges.
