COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Electronic Engineering course is structured over three full-time years, providing a progressive development of knowledge and practical skills in electrical and electronic engineering. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in essential areas such as engineering mathematics, electrical circuit analysis, digital logic design, electronic principles, and object-oriented programming with C++. Design and practical skills are also introduced to develop problem-solving abilities and hands-on experience. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced concepts, including advanced engineering mathematics, circuits, signals and systems, principles of control, analogue electronics, and embedded software design. Students also engage in professional practice and a team design project, which fosters collaboration and real-world application of engineering principles. The final year emphasizes specialized and emerging areas of the field, including renewable energy engineering, communication systems, wireless technologies, biomedical electronics, and embedded systems with the Internet of Things. Students also complete a substantial BEng project, integrating theoretical knowledge and practical skills to address a real-world engineering problem. Throughout the course, the curriculum balances technical learning with hands-on experience, preparing graduates with the expertise, practical competence, and professional understanding required for careers in electrical, electronics, and computer systems engineering. This approach ensures students are well-equipped for a dynamic and evolving industry.
