COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Acting for Stage and Screen at LSBU provides a structured, three-year program that combines practical training, industry experience, and portfolio development to prepare students for professional careers in acting and theatre. In the first year, students focus on foundational training through modules such as Voice and Movement, Scene Study, Play in Production, The Actor as Performer, and The Ensemble Performer. These modules develop essential performance skills, body awareness, vocal technique, and collaborative abilities, laying the groundwork for more advanced study. The second year builds on this foundation with industry-directed residencies and productions, including Professional Production, Company in Residence, Acting for Screen, Participatory and the Audience, Advanced Acting, and Performing in Recorded Media. These experiences provide students with opportunities to apply their skills in realistic settings, engage with professional standards, and explore both stage and screen performance. In the final year, students focus on refining their craft and building a professional portfolio through modules such as Professional Toolkit, Classical Acting, Small Scale Performance, Advanced Screen Acting, and the Final Major Project. This combination of rigorous training, creative exploration, and practical application ensures graduates leave with versatile performance skills, industry insight, and a strong portfolio, fully equipped to pursue careers in acting, theatre-making, and screen performance.
