COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology (Conversion) MSc includes a range of core modules designed to provide a strong foundation in psychological theory, research methods, and applied understanding of human behaviour. Introductory Research Methods for Psychology develops essential skills in designing studies, collecting data, and understanding basic statistical techniques used in psychological research. Advanced Research Methods for Psychology builds on this foundation by introducing more complex analytical approaches and strengthening students’ ability to conduct independent research. Biopsychology and Cognition explores the relationship between the brain, behaviour, and mental processes, including perception, memory, and thinking. Developmental Psychology examines how people change and develop across the lifespan, from childhood through adulthood. Individual Differences focuses on personality, intelligence, and psychological traits that distinguish individuals from one another. Social Psychology investigates how people think, feel, and behave in social contexts, including group behaviour and social influence. The Dissertation allows students to undertake an independent research project on a chosen topic, applying their knowledge and research skills in depth. Together, these modules provide a comprehensive grounding in psychology, combining theoretical knowledge with practical research training. The program prepares students for further professional training or careers in psychology-related fields by developing critical thinking, analytical ability, and a strong understanding of human behaviour.
