COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Nutrition MSc includes a set of advanced modules designed to develop scientific knowledge, research skills, and applied expertise in nutrition science and public health. Advanced Metabolic Nutrition explores how the body processes nutrients at a biochemical level, focusing on metabolism and its role in health and disease. Advanced Research Skills develops students’ ability to design, conduct, and critically evaluate scientific research using appropriate methodologies and data analysis techniques. Assessment of Nutritional Status examines methods used to evaluate dietary intake, health indicators, and nutritional needs in individuals and populations. Concepts in Nutrition Epidemiology introduces the study of how nutrition affects health outcomes across different populations, using statistical and population-based approaches. Nutrition and Food Policy explores how government policies influence food systems, dietary behaviour, and public health outcomes. Public Health Nutrition focuses on strategies to improve nutrition and reduce diet-related diseases at a community and population level. The Research Dissertation allows students to undertake independent research on a chosen topic, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world nutritional issues. Together, these modules equip students with advanced analytical, practical, and research skills needed for careers in public health nutrition, research, and health promotion in diverse professional settings globally across healthcare and industry contexts.
