Advanced Geotechnical Engineering and Soil-Structure Interaction focuses on how soil and structures interact, enabling students to design safe and stable foundations. Advanced Structural Design and Advanced Structural Analysis and Finite Element Method develop skills in analyzing and designing complex structures using modern computational techniques. Transportation Engineering Systems and Simulation explores the planning and modelling of transport networks, supporting efficient infrastructure development. The sustainable adaptation and re-use of existing infrastructure and buildings highlights environmentally responsible approaches to upgrading and maintaining structures. Project Management Principles, Project Planning and Delivery, and Managing Risk and Uncertainty equip students with the skills to effectively plan, manage, and execute projects while addressing potential challenges. Procurement and Contract Practice provides knowledge of legal and contractual frameworks within construction projects. Research Methods in Civil Engineering and the Group Design Project develop analytical and collaborative skills, preparing students for real-world problem solving. The Dissertation Project allows students to undertake independent research on a specialized topic.
