The program’s modules provide a comprehensive foundation in understanding and supporting the mental health of children and adolescents through both theory and practice. Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology explores how young people grow and develop across emotional, cognitive, and social domains, helping students understand typical and atypical development. Clinical Skills for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practitioners focuses on practical techniques used to assess and support young individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Introduction to Skills Based Practice helps students build essential communication and professional skills for working effectively in real-world settings. Psychopathology examines a range of mental health disorders, their symptoms, and diagnostic frameworks, with a focus on how these present in children and adolescents. Research Design and Analysis for Psychology equips students with the ability to design studies, analyze data, and apply evidence-based approaches. Resilience and Mindfulness highlights strategies to promote emotional wellbeing and coping skills in young people. The Research Project allows students to apply their learning through independent investigation of a chosen topic. Together, these modules ensure students gain the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to support child and adolescent mental health in professional settings.
