The program’s yearly modules provide a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application within addiction and mental health studies. Addiction Psychology introduces key concepts related to the causes, development, and impacts of addictive behaviours, helping students understand patterns of dependency. Introduction to Skills Based Practice focuses on developing essential professional and interpersonal skills required for working effectively with individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. Neuroscience of Addiction and Pharmacotherapy explores the biological mechanisms behind addiction, including brain function and the role of medications in treatment. Psychopathology examines a range of mental health disorders, their symptoms, and diagnostic frameworks, offering insight into how these conditions intersect with addiction. Research Design and Analysis for Psychology equips students with the ability to design studies, interpret data, and apply statistical methods, which are essential for evidence-based practice. The Research Project allows students to apply their learning independently, investigating a topic in depth and developing critical research skills. Treatment Interventions focuses on various therapeutic approaches and strategies used to support individuals in recovery.
