COURSE CURRICULUM

The Peace, Conflict and Diplomacy MA includes a diverse set of modules that provide a comprehensive understanding of global conflict, diplomacy, security, and human rights. International Conflict Resolution focuses on methods and strategies used to prevent, manage, and resolve disputes between states, groups, and communities. The Peace, Conflict and Diplomacy Dissertation and Research Methods module develops essential research skills and allows students to undertake independent study on a chosen topic. Public and Diaspora Diplomacy explores the role of non-state actors and diaspora communities in shaping international relations and diplomatic practice. The Practice of Diplomacy examines how diplomacy is conducted in real-world contexts, including negotiation and international communication. History and Theory of Human Rights investigates the development and philosophical foundations of human rights. Human Rights and the International Order examines global institutions and legal frameworks that promote and protect human rights. Humanity in Peril: Navigating Security Concerns addresses major global security challenges and ethical issues. Religion and International Relations explores how faith influences global politics and diplomacy. Security Studies focuses on theories and approaches to understanding global security threats. Together, these modules prepare students for careers in diplomacy, international organisations, policy development, peacebuilding, and global conflict resolution by combining theoretical insight with practical and analytical skills.
