COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Relations MA includes a wide range of modules designed to develop advanced understanding of global politics, security, diplomacy, and human rights. Humanity in Peril: Navigating Security Concerns examines major global threats and security challenges, encouraging students to consider ethical and strategic responses to complex international issues. The International Relations Dissertation and Research Methods module develops essential research skills and allows students to complete an independent study on a chosen topic. International Relations: Theories and Challenges introduces key theoretical frameworks for analysing global political systems and international behaviour. Human Rights and the International Order explores how global institutions and legal structures promote and protect human rights. International Conflict Resolution focuses on strategies for managing and resolving disputes between states and groups. Public and Diaspora Diplomacy and The Practice of Diplomacy examine how diplomatic relations are conducted and how non-state actors influence global affairs. Religion and International Relations explores the role of faith in shaping global politics. Security Studies addresses issues of global safety and conflict prevention. US Foreign Policy in the 21st Century analyses the role and influence of the United States in contemporary international relations. Together, these modules prepare students for careers in diplomacy, policy analysis, international organisations, and global affairs.
