COURSE CURRICULUM

The program’s modules provide a comprehensive and critical understanding of early childhood education, combining theory, research, and professional practice. Critical Theory and Education introduces key theoretical perspectives that help students analyse educational systems and practices. Critical Discourses in Early Childhood encourages examination of current debates and issues shaping early years education. Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment focuses on how learning is planned, delivered, and evaluated to support children’s development effectively. Identity and Self in the Early Years explores how young children develop a sense of self and how this is influenced by social and cultural factors. Social Justice Education highlights the importance of equality, inclusion, and fairness in educational settings, encouraging students to address issues such as inequality and diversity. Curriculum Leadership develops skills needed to lead and manage educational programs and initiatives. Research Methods in Education equips students with the ability to design and conduct academic research. The Education Dissertation allows for in-depth independent study on a chosen topic. Together, these modules prepare students to critically evaluate and improve educational practices while supporting young children’s learning and development in diverse contexts.
