Conference Interpreting (EU/UN Context) introduces the standards, practices, and expectations of interpreting within international organisations, preparing students for high-level professional environments. Consecutive Interpreting modules focus on developing the ability to accurately interpret spoken language in both directions, enhancing listening, memory, and note-taking skills. Simultaneous Interpreting trains students to interpret speech in real time, a critical skill for conferences and formal events, requiring speed, accuracy, and concentration. Interpreting Theory and Interpreting Assignment Preparation Strategies provide the theoretical background and practical techniques needed to prepare effectively for interpreting tasks. The Interpreter’s Professional Environment explores the working conditions, ethics, and career pathways within the interpreting profession. The MA Research Project allows students to investigate a specialised topic, developing critical thinking and academic research skills. Together, these modules ensure students gain a high level of linguistic competence, technical expertise, and professional awareness, preparing them to work confidently as conference interpreters in international organisations and the private sector.
