COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Criminal Law) (Hons) program is structured over three years, providing a comprehensive legal education with a strong emphasis on criminal law and litigation. In Year 1, students build a foundation in core legal subjects through modules such as Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Contract I, Criminal Law I, English Legal System, Land Law I, Law of Tort I, and Legal Method, which introduce key principles of the legal system and essential analytical skills. In Year 2, students deepen their knowledge with advanced modules including Contract Law II, Criminal Law II, Land Law II, Law of Equity and Trusts I, Law of Tort II, Law of the European Union I, and Law of Evidence, alongside optional subjects such as Employment Law, Medical Law, Consumer Rights Law, and Law of Advocacy and Mooting, which enhance practical and research skills. In Year 3, the focus shifts to specialisation and professional preparation with modules such as Criminal Litigation, Civil Law and Practice, Law of Equity and Trusts II, Law of the European Union II, and a Criminal Law Dissertation or Extended Essay. Students also choose from a wide range of optional subjects including Human Rights, Company Law, Environmental Law, and Public International Law. Overall, the course develops strong legal knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills for careers in law.
