COURSE CURRICULUM

The Real Estate (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) is a structured four-year program designed to prepare students for professional careers in the property and built environment sectors. In Year 0, students develop essential academic foundations through modules such as Academic Research Skills and Professional Development, Applied Mathematics in the Built Environment, and Computation and Digital Literacy, ensuring they are prepared for degree-level study. In Year 1, learners are introduced to core real estate principles including Built Environment Principles, Construction Technology and Building Services, Real Estate Economics and Valuation, and Real Estate Law and Planning, providing a strong grounding in how the property sector operates. In Year 2, students expand their expertise through Applied Valuation, Accounting for Real Estate, Real Estate Asset Management, Real Estate Development, Urban Regeneration, and Building Pathology and Refurbishment, gaining both technical and analytical skills. In Year 3, the focus shifts to advanced professional practice and applied learning, with modules such as Advanced Valuation, Commercial Real Estate Practice, Sustainable Real Estate, and Development, Finance and Risk. Students also complete an Applied Research Project and undertake a Professional Placement to gain industry experience. Additional training in leadership, teamwork, and big data further enhances employability and professional readiness.
