COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computing BSc (Hons) program with foundation year is designed to build knowledge and skills progressively across four years. In Year 0, students are introduced to essential concepts such as cyber security fundamentals, programming, mathematics, and the basics of robotics and the Internet of Things, helping them prepare for degree-level study. In Year 1, the focus shifts to core computing principles, including computer hardware and software architectures, programming, logic and problem solving, and information systems, providing a strong technical foundation. In Year 2, students develop more advanced skills through modules such as advanced programming and technologies, cloud computing, databases, network operating systems, software engineering, and smart data discovery, alongside professional and ethical considerations in computing. In the final year, the course emphasises practical application and specialisation, with modules including application development, data and web development, artificial intelligence, and mobile applications. Students also undertake a major project and study project analysis and practice, allowing them to integrate their knowledge and demonstrate their abilities. Overall, the program combines theoretical understanding with practical experience, preparing graduates for a wide range of careers in computing, software development, and emerging technology fields.
