COURSE CURRICULUM

The Banking and Finance BSc (Hons) program is structured across a foundation year followed by three years of progressively advanced study. The foundation year introduces essential academic and business skills, preparing students for degree-level learning. In Year 1, students build a strong understanding of core concepts through modules such as financial and management accounting, macroeconomics and microeconomics, financial markets and institutions, data analysis, and the broader business and economic environment. Year 2 expands on this foundation with more specialized subjects including investment, lending, econometrics, finance principles, international business, company law, and sustainability, alongside opportunities for problem-solving and work-based learning. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics such as financial engineering, financial instruments, economic modelling, international banking, financial management, and global trade and finance. They also complete a dissertation and engage in strategic business simulations to apply their knowledge in practical contexts. Additionally, the program offers the option of a professional placement year to gain real-world experience. This structured progression ensures students develop a comprehensive understanding of banking and finance, along with analytical, practical, and professional skills necessary for successful careers in the financial sector.
