COURSE CURRICULUM

The Airline, Airport and Aviation Management (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) program is structured to provide a gradual and comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry over four years. The foundation year introduces students to key social science topics and current affairs while helping them develop essential academic skills such as research, critical thinking, and self-reflection. In the first year, students gain a solid grounding in aviation by studying areas such as airline operations, airport management, air transport economics, and the aviation system, alongside core business subjects like management, marketing, and data analysis. The second year builds on this knowledge with more specialised and applied topics, including airline revenue management, aviation psychology, safety and security, and risk management. Students also engage in practical learning through consultancy, project work, and workplace-related modules, while exploring broader themes like sustainability, tourism, and international business. In the final year, the focus shifts to strategic and advanced aspects of aviation, such as airport planning, financial decision-making, innovation, and brand management within the industry. Students also complete a dissertation and consultancy project, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Overall, the program offers a balanced mix of theory, practical skills, and industry-focused learning.
