COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology BSc (Hons) is a three-year degree that provides a structured and progressive understanding of human behaviour, cognition, and mental processes through scientific study. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation with modules such as Research Methods and Data Analysis in Psychology, Psychopathology, Mechanisms of the Mind, and Psychology Across Time and Cultures. They also develop professional awareness and ethical understanding through topics like Becoming a Socially Responsible Professional, Careers in Psychology, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Psychology. In Year 2, students expand their knowledge of psychological theory and research through modules covering Cognitive and Biological Explanations of Behaviour, Development Across the Lifespan, Social and Cultural Psychology, and Individual Differences. They also study both qualitative and quantitative research methods while exploring applied topics such as Psychological Interventions and Creativity and Innovation. In Year 3, students engage in advanced and specialised study through a Psychology Project and optional modules including Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Cyberpsychology, Counselling Psychology, and Work Psychology. Additional areas such as Gender and Sexuality, Positive Psychology, and Coding for Psychology further broaden their expertise. Overall, the program develops strong research, analytical, and applied skills for careers or postgraduate study in psychology.
