COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) is structured over three years and combines scientific knowledge, clinical practice, and professional development to prepare students for a career in physiotherapy. In Year 1, students are introduced to core concepts through modules such as Applied Science 1 and 2, Evidence-Based Practice 1, and Physiotherapy Theory and Practice focusing on long-term and acute conditions. They also begin early clinical exposure through Practice Education 1 and develop professional skills in reflection, communication, and professionalism. In Year 2, learning becomes more advanced with Applied Science 3 and Evidence-Based Practice 2, which focuses on research methods and critical appraisal. Students further develop clinical skills through modules on rehabilitation, health promotion, and wellbeing, alongside additional practice education placements. Professional development continues with a focus on teamwork and interprofessional practice. In Year 3, students engage in advanced study through Evidence-Based Practice 3 and complex clinical management modules. A significant portion of the year is dedicated to multiple Practice Education placements, allowing extensive real-world experience. The final Professional Practice module focuses on leadership and service improvement, preparing students for autonomous practice. Overall, the program develops competent, reflective, and evidence-based physiotherapists ready for professional healthcare environments.
