COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Forensics and Cyber Security BSc (Hons) degree is a three-year program that develops students’ knowledge and skills in cyber security, digital forensics, and IT systems, preparing them for professional roles in the field. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation in computing and technology through modules such as Computer Hardware and Software Architectures, Fundamentals of Computing, Introduction to Information Systems, Logic and Problem Solving, and Programming, which establish essential technical and analytical skills. Year 2 expands into applied and specialised areas, with modules including Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things, Computer and Mobile Forensics, Cyber Security in Computing, Network Forensics and Incident Response, Professional and Ethical Issues, Risk, Crisis and Security Management, and Smart Data Discovery. These modules focus on practical skills and contemporary challenges, giving students the ability to identify, investigate, and manage security threats in digital environments. In Year 3, students consolidate their learning through advanced modules such as Digital Investigation and E-Discovery, Ethical Hacking, Network and Cloud Security, Career Development Learning, and a major Project, integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world application. The program combines technical expertise, professional practice, and industry-relevant experience, equipping graduates to work effectively in cyber security, digital forensics, ethical hacking, and network security roles, while preparing them for further professional development or accreditation.
