COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computing BSc (Hons) program is structured to build essential knowledge and practical skills across three years of study. In Year 1, students develop a solid foundation in computing through modules such as computer hardware and software architectures, programming, logic and problem solving, information systems, and fundamental computing concepts. This stage ensures a strong understanding of both technical and theoretical principles. In Year 2, the course progresses to more advanced and specialised topics, including cloud computing and the Internet of Things, databases, network operating systems, and software engineering. Students also explore smart data discovery, professional and ethical issues in computing, and creative areas such as programming graphical special effects for games, broadening their skill set. In Year 3, the focus shifts towards application and career preparation, with modules such as application development, data and web development, artificial intelligence, and mobile applications. Students also complete a major project alongside project analysis and practice, allowing them to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. Career development learning further prepares students for employment. Overall, the program offers a balanced combination of theory and practical experience, equipping graduates with the skills needed for careers in software development, data, and emerging technology fields.
