COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Science BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years, with each year building on core biological knowledge and practical skills. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation through modules such as anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, and laboratory skills, alongside professional studies. These modules introduce key biological concepts and essential laboratory techniques. In Year 2, students expand their understanding into more specialized areas including human immunity, metabolism, microbiology, molecular biology, parasitology, tissue science, and micronutrients for health, while also gaining practical experience through a work placement. This stage emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and applied scientific skills. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics such as biochemical pathology, clinical biochemistry, energy metabolism, endocrinology, infection control, toxicology, and systems pathology, alongside completing an independent research project. This progression allows students to integrate their knowledge and develop analytical and research abilities. Overall, the program provides a comprehensive understanding of biological sciences, combining theory and practical experience, and prepares graduates for careers in healthcare, research, environmental science, and related fields.
