COURSE CURRICULUM

The Banking and Finance BSc (Hons) program is structured over three years, with each year building progressively on core financial and business knowledge. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation through modules such as data science, financial and management accounting, macroeconomics and microeconomics, financial markets and institutions, and understanding the business and economic environment. These subjects introduce key analytical and financial concepts essential for further study. In Year 2, students deepen their knowledge with more specialized topics including investment, lending, econometrics, finance principles, international business, company law, and sustainability, alongside modules that enhance problem-solving skills and provide opportunities for work-based learning. The final year focuses on advanced and applied aspects of finance, including financial engineering, financial instruments, economic modelling, international banking, financial management, and global trade and finance. Students also complete a dissertation and participate in strategic business simulations to apply their learning in practical scenarios. Additionally, there is an opportunity to undertake a professional placement year, gaining valuable industry experience. This structured progression ensures that graduates develop strong analytical, technical, and professional skills, preparing them for successful careers in banking, finance, and related sectors.
