COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electronic Engineering and Internet of Things BEng (Hons) degree with a foundation year is a four-year program that prepares students for a career in electronic and IoT engineering, even if they do not meet the standard entry requirements. The foundation year covers essential skills in mathematics, programming, cyber security fundamentals, and an introduction to robotics and IoT, providing a strong base for advanced study. In the first year, students explore core topics such as communications engineering, electronics systems, programming, and logic and mathematical techniques, building practical and theoretical knowledge. The second year focuses on advanced electronics systems, microprocessors and embedded systems, mobile communications, network engineering, and work-related learning, combining technical expertise with professional experience. In the final year, students engage with specialized subjects including broadband systems, digital systems applications, IoT systems and security, applied robotics, computer vision, ethical hacking, and wireless networks, alongside completing a major project that integrates their learning. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience in laboratories, simulations, and real-world projects, developing problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills. Graduates of this program will be well-equipped for roles in electronic engineering, IoT development, embedded systems, network design, or related technology fields, ready to meet the challenges of modern digital and connected environments.
