COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence and Robotics BEng (Hons) program is structured across a foundation year and three levels of study, progressively developing technical knowledge and practical skills. In the foundation year, students are introduced to essential topics including Cyber Security Fundamentals, Introduction to Robotics and Internet of Things, Mathematics, and Programming, building a strong base for further study. Year 1 focuses on core engineering principles through modules such as Communications Engineering, Electronic Systems, Logic and Mathematical Techniques, and Programming, strengthening analytical and technical abilities. In Year 2, students advance into more specialized areas, including AI for Robotics, AI with ROS, Advanced Electronic Systems, Microprocessors and Embedded Systems, Network Operating Systems, Sensors, Actuators and Control, and Work Related Learning, which provides practical industry exposure. The final year emphasizes advanced applications and integration of knowledge through modules like Applied Robotics, Bio-inspired AI and Security, Computer Vision, IoT Systems and Security, Artificial Intelligence, Broadband Systems, Digital Systems Applications, and Wireless Networks, alongside a major project. This structured progression ensures students gain a balance of theoretical understanding and hands-on experience, preparing them for careers in robotics, AI, and related engineering fields.
