COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Systems Engineering and Robotics BEng (Hons) program is structured to progressively build technical knowledge and practical skills across three years of study. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation in key areas such as computer hardware and software architectures, electronics systems, programming, and logic and mathematical techniques, ensuring a solid understanding of both computing and engineering principles. In Year 2, the course advances into more specialised topics including advanced electronics systems, microprocessors and embedded systems, databases, network operating systems, and data structures, alongside network engineering and work-related learning to provide real-world experience. This stage strengthens both technical ability and problem-solving skills in applied settings. In Year 3, students explore advanced and industry-focused subjects such as applied robotics, computer vision, IoT systems and security, distributed and cloud systems, and network security. Additional modules like ethical hacking, mobile applications, and broadband systems further enhance their expertise in modern technologies. A major individual project allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge to a practical problem. Overall, the course offers a comprehensive blend of theory and hands-on experience, preparing graduates for careers in robotics, computer systems engineering, and advanced technology industries.
