COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence and Robotics BEng (Hons) program is structured over three years, with each stage building progressively on core engineering knowledge and specialized technical skills. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation through modules such as Communications Engineering, Electronic Systems, Logic and Mathematical Techniques, and Programming, which introduce key principles essential to engineering and computing. Year 2 advances this knowledge with more specialized modules including AI for Robotics, AI with ROS, Advanced Electronic Systems, Microprocessors and Embedded Systems, Network Operating Systems, Sensors, Actuators and Control, and Work Related Learning, allowing students to gain practical experience and industry-relevant skills. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics and integration of knowledge through modules such as Applied Robotics, Bio-inspired AI and Security, Computer Vision, IoT Systems and Security, Artificial Intelligence, Broadband Systems, Digital Systems Applications, and Wireless Networks, alongside completing a major individual project. This progression ensures that students develop both theoretical understanding and hands-on expertise, preparing them for professional roles in AI, robotics, and related engineering fields, with the ability to design, implement, and manage complex technological systems in a variety of industries.
