COURSE CURRICULUM

The Architecture program is structured across a foundation year followed by three years of undergraduate study, each with a set of progressive modules designed to develop both practical and theoretical skills. In the foundation year, students engage in Critical & Contextual Studies: Foundation, Critical Creative Practice, Project, and Techniques, which establish essential knowledge and creative abilities necessary for architectural study. Year 1 builds on this base with Critical & Contextual Studies 1 (Architecture), Design Project 1.2, Design Skills 1.1, and Technology 1, introducing students to core design principles, technical skills, and contextual understanding. In Year 2, students advance through Critical & Contextual Studies 2 (Architecture), Design Project 2.2, Design Skills 2.1, and Technology 2, further developing design proficiency, analytical thinking, and technical knowledge required for architectural practice. The final year focuses on independent research and comprehensive design work, with modules including Critical & Contextual Studies 3: Dissertation (Architecture), Design Project Development 3.1, Design Project Resolution 3.2: Comprehensive Design Project, and Integrated Design Audit. This structure ensures a balanced progression from foundational skills to complex, integrated design projects, preparing students for professional practice while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a thorough understanding of architectural theory and technology.
