COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Photography BA (Hons) at London Metropolitan University is a three-year program that develops students’ technical, creative, and conceptual skills in contemporary fashion photography. In the first year, students focus on foundational learning through modules such as Critical and Contextual Studies 1, Looking and Making 1, Project Work 1, and Techniques: Photography. These modules introduce key photographic practices, visual analysis, and technical skills, helping students establish a solid base for creative experimentation and portfolio development. In the second year, students progress to more advanced study with Critical and Contextual Studies 2, Looking and Making 2, Professional Practice 1: Photography, and Project Work 2. This stage emphasizes applied learning, professional experience, and independent creative projects, allowing students to refine their technical abilities while exploring industry-relevant practices and collaborative work. The final year focuses on mastery and professional readiness through Critical and Contextual Studies: Dissertation, Looking and Making 3, Major Project, and Professional Practice 2: Fashion Photography. Students consolidate their creative vision, undertake large-scale projects, and develop portfolios that demonstrate originality, technical proficiency, and professional understanding.
