COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Marketing and Journalism BA (Hons) at London Metropolitan University is a three-year undergraduate program designed to develop students’ skills in journalism, media, and fashion marketing. In the first year, students focus on foundational skills in audio and video techniques, fashion journalism, media history, mobile journalism, reporting, and marketing principles, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The second year emphasizes applied learning and industry engagement, with modules including collaborative fashion journalism projects, public interest journalism, media law and ethics, newsroom production, digital project management, documentary photography, podcast production, online fashion retailing, styling, and screenwriting. Students also gain professional experience through placements and employability-focused projects, ensuring they understand industry standards and workflow. In the final year, students advance to higher-level skills and independent projects, studying advanced broadcast journalism in audio and video, creating packages, magazine branding, consultancy projects, and dissertation work in creative practice and research. Additional modules explore fashion writing and reporting, documentary filmmaking, digital video post-production, arts and lifestyle journalism, media industry careers, and specialist topics such as queer media, postcolonial cinema, graphical communications, and interaction design. Across all three years, the course integrates theory, practical experience, and professional development, preparing graduates for successful careers in fashion journalism, media, marketing, and related creative industries.
