COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Forensic Anthropology curriculum provides a comprehensive blend of core and optional modules designed to equip students with advanced expertise in forensic investigation and human identification. Core modules include Taphonomy and Trauma Analysis, which explores post-mortem changes and injury assessment, and Law and Courtroom Skills, focusing on the legal context and the presentation of forensic evidence in trials. Human Identification and Forensic DNA develops knowledge in biological profiling and genetic techniques used to identify unknown individuals, while Forensic Research Methods equips students with the skills to conduct rigorous scientific research. The program culminates in a substantial Forensic Anthropology Dissertation, allowing students to apply their learning to an independent project. A range of optional modules offers the chance to specialise further, with choices such as Trace Evidence Analysis, Advanced Osteology and Skeletal Pathology, Dental Anthropology, Forensic Bioscience, and Archaeological Field Skills.
