COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Drug Discovery, Development and Delivery equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in the pharmaceutical industry. Core modules cover the full spectrum of drug development, beginning with Research Methods, which provides a foundation in scientific investigation and data analysis. Drug Discovery and Analysis introduces students to the identification and evaluation of potential therapeutic compounds, while Preformulation Strategies explores the early stages of drug development, including solubility, stability, and bioavailability considerations. Formulation and Drug Delivery focuses on translating compounds into safe and effective dosage forms, and Approaches to Drug Design examines modern strategies for creating targeted and efficient therapeutics. Product Development and Control emphasizes quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and the processes required to bring new drugs to market. Students have the option to undertake either a Research Project or a Placement Project, allowing them to apply their learning to real-world problems, gain hands-on laboratory or industry experience, and develop professional skills.
