COURSE CURRICULUM

The MRes Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University is structured around three core modules designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in advanced research skills and practical application. The Developing Real World Research Skills module, worth 30 credits, equips students with essential techniques and methodologies for designing and conducting robust scientific investigations, emphasizing the translation of theoretical knowledge into practical, real-world solutions. The Reflective Researcher module, also 30 credits, focuses on cultivating critical thinking, self-evaluation, and reflective practice, enabling students to assess their own research processes, learn from challenges, and refine their approach to problem-solving. The Application of Research module, carrying 120 credits, forms the cornerstone of the program, allowing students to undertake an extensive independent research project under the guidance of academic, industrial, and clinical experts. This module provides hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and offers opportunities to collaborate with partners in the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare sector.
