COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Football Science degree at Liverpool John Moores University offers a comprehensive and practical education designed to prepare students for careers in both community and professional football. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in exercise physiology, human movement, and psychosocial principles of sport and exercise, alongside professional practice in science and football and talent identification and development. Research methods are introduced to provide essential analytical skills. In the second year, students advance their understanding of exercise physiology and research methods while exploring sport and performance psychology, biomechanics, and football tactics and match analysis. Professional practice continues, allowing students to apply theory in real-world settings. Optional study abroad and sandwich placements provide international and industry experience, enhancing employability and practical exposure. The final year focuses on integrating knowledge and skills through a major project, football technology and innovation, physical performance in football, applied psychology, and an applied placement in science and football.
