COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Business with Media Communications at Liverpool John Moores University combines core business knowledge with specialised skills in media and public relations, preparing students for careers in corporate communications, event management, online media, and public relations. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge through modules in academic skills and digital literacy, marketing, economics, accounting and finance, global business management, and media communications. The second year builds on this with core modules in media production management, business research, business analytics, media event management, writing for audiences, and employability skills, alongside optional modules such as managing people and organisations, modern language for business, and opportunities for a semester or full year abroad. An optional sandwich year provides 48 weeks of paid work placement in the UK or overseas, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in professional settings, develop practical skills, and enhance employability. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics including sustainable futures, strategic management, business consultancy, integrated marketing communications, issues in crisis management, corporate communications, and digital communication management. The program integrates practical experience, industry insights, and international exposure, equipping graduates with the analytical, managerial, and communication skills required to navigate complex media and business environments successfully and pursue careers in public relations, corporate communications, and digital media management.
