COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Audio and Music Production at Liverpool John Moores University is structured to provide a strong foundation in media, audio technology, and production while progressively developing advanced technical and professional skills. In the first year, students are introduced to the media industry, media production methods, and core audio technologies, with practical training in audio production, sound technology, and podcasting. The second year advances these skills through modules in audio recording, studio operations, live performance operations, broadcast standards, and sound for TV, film, and games, as well as music video production, ensuring a broad understanding of different media platforms. At this stage, students can also choose to spend a year abroad or undertake a sandwich placement, gaining valuable international or industry experience. In the final year, the focus shifts toward professional development and independent work, with modules covering career management, media entrepreneurship, and emerging digital platforms such as streaming, apps, and networking. Students also develop expertise in audio restoration and digital enhancement while completing a major project that consolidates their learning. This program combines technical training, creative exploration, and business insight, ensuring graduates are well prepared for diverse careers in the audio and music production industry.
