COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance at Liverpool John Moores University offers a well-structured curriculum designed to build strong foundations in accounting, finance, and related disciplines while gradually developing advanced knowledge and professional skills. In the first year, students are introduced to core principles through modules such as financial accounting, business mathematics and statistics, economics, corporate governance, and management and cost accounting, alongside academic and professional awareness. The second year builds on these foundations with modules covering financial accounting, management accounting for decision making, financial management, data analysis, employability development, and law for accounting and finance. At this stage, students also have the option to take a sandwich year with a full-time work placement or spend a year abroad at a partner university, gaining valuable practical and global experience. The final year advances learning through modules in strategic management accounting, advanced financial accounting, corporate finance, and contemporary issues in the field. Students can also choose from specialist options such as taxation, auditing and assurance, personal finance, or financial modelling and valuation, allowing them to tailor their studies to career interests. The program combines theoretical knowledge, practical application, and professional development to prepare graduates for careers in accountancy and finance.
