COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Sport Business degree at Liverpool John Moores University offers a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to succeed in the dynamic sports industry. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of sport business, including the business of sport, sport management, marketing, sponsorship and public relations, and the broader sports industry context. Academic skills, digital literacy, and practical applications in sport business help build a solid foundation for future study. The second year focuses on employability, entrepreneurship, grassroots and community sport, elite sport, research design, and sports media, while offering optional modules in sport law and sports event management. Students also have the opportunity to enhance their learning through a sandwich year or study abroad, gaining valuable work experience and industry insight. The third year consolidates knowledge and practical skills, with core modules covering the future of sport business, applied sport business, professional development, leadership and organisational management, and an independent dissertation project. Across all three years, the program combines theoretical understanding with applied learning to prepare students for careers in sports management, marketing, events, digital media, sponsorship, and other professional roles within the evolving global sports sector.
