COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Performance and Production at Liverpool John Moores University offers a structured three-year curriculum that develops creative, technical, and professional skills for careers in performance and production. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules in the fundamentals of performance, storytelling, understanding engaged practice, and introductory production, alongside professional practice and collaborative projects that encourage teamwork and hands-on learning. The second year expands these skills with advanced modules in interdisciplinary performance, socially engaged practice, advanced production skills, production management, specialist practice, and work-based learning, allowing students to gain practical experience and develop expertise in specific areas. There is also the option to study abroad, providing exposure to international practices in performance and production. In the final year, students focus on professional preparation and independent creative development through modules such as lift off, professional practice, specialisms, personal professional portfolio, and an independent project. This year emphasizes the application of accumulated skills in real-world and self-directed contexts, enabling students to showcase their abilities and creativity. Throughout the program, collaboration, practical experience, and engagement with communities are central, ensuring that graduates leave with a comprehensive understanding of performance, production, and socially responsive creative practices, fully equipped for the creative industries.
