COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Events Management at Liverpool John Moores University provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the events industry while equipping them with practical, professional, and academic skills. In the first year, students study the foundations of the industry, including event operations, creative event design, marketing for tourism and events, introduction to management and leadership, and academic skills with digital literacy, establishing a strong base for future learning. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in event planning, event production, human resource management for events, research design, employability skills, and practical digital marketing skills. Students also have the opportunity to broaden their experience through optional modules in business ethics, modern languages for business, or a study or sandwich year abroad, giving real-world exposure and practical experience within the events, tourism, and sport sectors. In the final year, the course focuses on strategic and responsible event management, policy and politics in events, and advanced research skills through a dissertation project. Optional modules such as entrepreneurship, innovation, and business consultancy further develop transferable skills that are highly sought after in the industry. Throughout the degree, emphasis is placed on creativity, organisation, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for successful careers in a dynamic and competitive global events industry.
