COURSE CURRICULUM

The course covers the core areas of psychology required by the BPS. These include: Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Individual Differences, Social Psychology, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology, Research Methods. You'll study two Research Methods modules, which will develop your understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis. In your final trimester, you'll undertake an empirical research project, where you'll have the opportunity to conduct your own piece of research, from the first stages of planning and design to analysing and writing up your data. You'll be supported by a member of our course team with expertise in your subject area. You'll also study a module on Professional Development and Practice in Psychology, which will help you to consider how the theory you've learnt relates to the real world of psychology. You'll have the opportunity to hear from professionals who work in a range of psychology roles and reflect on your own professional development.
