COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cyber Security degree is structured over three years to provide students with a solid foundation in computing, followed by advanced specialist knowledge in security and threat prevention. In the first year, students develop essential technical skills through modules such as Software Development, Tech Stack, Computing Skills, and User Experience, which introduce the fundamentals of programming, digital tools, computing practices and user-focused design. The second year advances into more specialised areas, with core modules in Ethical Hacking, Algorithms and Data Structures, Computer Networking and Security, and a Thematic Project. At this stage, students gain practical experience in identifying vulnerabilities, securing networks, and applying computational problem-solving techniques while working on projects that simulate real-world challenges. The final year focuses on applying this knowledge in advanced contexts, with modules including Secure Development and Deployment, Cyber Security, Data Science, and a major independent Project. These modules enhance students’ ability to design and implement secure systems, analyse large datasets for security insights, and manage complex digital infrastructures. By combining technical expertise, hands-on training, and project-based learning, the program ensures that graduates are fully prepared for careers in cyber security, software development, and data-driven roles within both public and private sectors.
